with accompanying nausea and vomiting.
The patient also complains of diplopia, and on
examination shows a defect in the bitemporal superior
quadrants.

brought to A&E by her daughter.
The patient complains of weakness on the left side of the body, and
appears drowsy and confused. The patient
was noted to have received a total hip replacement approximately five weeks
prior to presentation.
3. A 50 year old female presents
with severe sudden onset headache in the occipital region, with accompanying
nausea and vomiting. The patient
appears to be sensitive to light and also complains of neck stiffness. On
further questioning, the patient describes a history of recurrent lower back
pain.
4. A 12 year old male presents
with headache, photophobia, sore throat and abdominal pain after returning from
Cyprus during summer holidays.
Lumbar puncture reveals a clear CSF.
5. A 40 year old cricket umpire
presents to A & E with a mild headache after being hit in the head with a
ball. The patient becomes
increasingly drowsy and suffers a seizure.
